I’m trying something new.
Every Monday, I’m going to share what’s on my mind about franchising and hiring. The format is flexible, but the commitment is consistent.
I’ve been writing for years. It’s something I genuinely enjoy. (Really! I wrote two books: How to Hire and The Franchise People Playbook, which we are launching at IFA next week.)
But I’ve been inconsistent about sharing what I’m thinking day to day. I’ll write something, polish it, sit on it, wait for the “right time” to push it live.
Meanwhile, I’m having conversations every week with people across the franchise industry who are wrestling with the same challenges, and I’m learning things from our work with 10,000+ franchise locations that would be useful to share.
So instead of waiting for the perfect moment or the perfect post, I’m just going to show up every Monday and write about whatever’s pressing or interesting or worth discussing that week.
I’ve seen a lot in this industry. Over the years, CareerPlug has worked with franchise systems across every industry you can imagine.
I’ve watched some grow from 10 locations to 200. I’ve seen others struggle to scale because they couldn’t crack the people side of things. I’ve learned what works, what doesn’t, and what franchisors wish someone had told them earlier about building hiring systems that actually scale.
That’s what I want to write about — the things I wish I could tell every franchisor I meet.
So here we are. Every Monday, whatever’s on my mind about franchising and hiring.
If there’s something specific you want me to write about — a challenge you’re facing, a question you can’t find a good answer to, a topic that keeps coming up in your world — let’s connect on LinkedIn.
Tell me what’s on your mind. This will work better as a conversation than a broadcast.
More next Monday,
Clint
